Your (mid)life is calling.

It’s time to get going.

Life is weird. And wonderful.

Life is weird. We’re thrown onto this planet without operating instructions and we’re supposed to figure it all out. And, as we’re figuring it out, time is marching by. This year is especially sucky. It’s enough to make you want to throw your arms in the air and give up.

But, here’s what I believe. I believe we’re each here for a reason. I believe that it’s encoded in us, but the culture knocks it out of us. We’ve forgotten, or stopped believing what we once knew to be true. We’re waiting for our moment. We’ve forgotten how to create that moment for ourselves.

And then we wonder why we’re depressed or anxious or drink one too many glasses of wine on a Friday night. It’s not you. It’s the way we’ve been tamed and taught to be.

Don't turn away.

This year has been particularly difficult. It’s taken a toll in so many ways. It’s demanded that we redefine ourselves and even our ambitions. We’ve been asked to change.

It’s easy to turn away because it’s harsh and it’s a lot. What I would suggest is that that there is a time for turning away, but do it with discernment. Turn away from what doesn’t work, but don’t stop there. Turn towards what does work. Put energy into the good things that are right there waiting for you.

If you focused on what feels right, your strengths, and what’s already working what difference would that make in your life?

You're already perfect. There's nothing to fix.

The ache of not knowing what you want, but knowing you were meant for more is a real thing. It’s not a problem to solve. It’s a quest, a journey, a calling where you don’t have to know the end to begin.

My belief is that you show up perfect in this life and then shit happens and life wraps itself around you to keep you safe. It’s like putting on sweater after sweater until what once felt cozy now keeps you from putting your arms down.

I also believe that the answers you want are inside you and all you have to do is remove the sweaters one-by-one. Each layer you remove gets you closer to being you. It takes effort, but it’s worth it.

Your beautiful reward.

The reward of all that effort is getting back to your true Self. That essential part of you is calm, confident, compassionate, caring without even trying. That part has a deep knowing. We can touch it in meditation, but when you can access it anytime, it becomes your way in the world. It doesn’t mean that you never feel afraid or anxious or frustrated. But, you know there’s something else inside you that is so much more powerful. Starting from there, you decide things from a true, quiet place. Not from fear or anxiety. You are connected what matters to you just by being you.

What's your story?

One way to begin is to tell your story. I’m sure you’ve done some version of this exercise before. What are the patterns? What keeps coming up? Where is the magic and the serendipity? What connects the dots of your memories?

I started doing this in a new way with some of my clients. It’s been pretty powerful. I guide it with very strategic questions. We delve in and look for patterns and insights. I then tell your story back to you in a way you may not have heard it before. You see things you never saw before because you are too close – too close to you, to your story, to your ways. But, another person can see you, the patterns, and can connect dots that have remained unconnected up until now.

You can do this by journaling. You can do it with a partner. Or, you can do it with me. For the month of November, I’m doing these calls for free so you can experience what having an advisor, mentor, coach can be like. If this calls to you, you can book it here. There’s no pressure or salesy stuff. It’s an invitation to get back on track. My not-so-secret agenda is that you get to experience coaching and may decide to work with me at some point. It’s also a way to connect via the magic of technology as we head into yet another phase of this pandemic.

The Reset Plan.

Another way to start is with my 2020 Reset Plan. If you’re tired of waiting, want to create your life or work rather than settle, ready to kick this year in the butt, check it out. It’s four coaching sessions for the price of three. You get started. You shift the energy. You focus on what you can do, rather than on what you can’t.

What do you need to leave behind? What do you need to carry forward? It’s time to revisit, reassess, and get back on track. The Reset Plan will get you started. I’d love to support you on this journey. Check it out in the link below.
