The Stay Plan
Sometimes your best move is to not make a move. Yet.
Staying can be smart. Staying can be hard.
Sometimes you so badly want to escape your current career. You want out. There is enough messaging out there to encourage a big move – Do what you love and the money will follow! Leap and the net will appear! The Universe responds to big moves! It’s not that this isn’t true.
But, maybe your intuition is saying, “Hold on a minute. Is this the right time? Is this the right thing? Is this too risky?”
That’s when you get into a conundrum – one part of you is saying Leap! And another part of you is saying Stay! And that’s when you stay stuck. It’s also when you become vulnerable to unintentionally making big, risky moves that you regret later.
I’d like add another voice to the conversation that says … Stay. For now. Until you’ve sorted it out. Yet, that can be so much harder than it sounds.
Staying might mean that you want to start your own business but need to figure a few things out before you leap; it could mean you’re close to retiring, so it makes sense to stick to maximize your financial potential.
But, emotionally, you’re so done. When this happens, each day can be a slog, each chipper new employee can grate on your last nerve. No matter how many times you swear that things aren’t going to get to you, they still do. You may even be a little afraid of exploding on the wrong person at the wrong time. It’s hard to hold it all in.
What’s going on, and is there a better way?
Redecorate the House You're In
Your opinions of your work place and your colleagues may have developed over years and may be locked in. Because of that, it may be hard to see the possibilities of feeling better in the job you’re in.
But, I recommend redecorating before you decide to uproot your whole life and move. This isnt’ always possible, but it’s definitely worth exploring. The thing is that our minds, left to their own devices underestimate how much effort and money it takes to make a change, and overestimates how hard it is to stay. It’s just how our brains our made. That’s why we need to activate our frontal cortexes to engage in an objective analysis of what’s going on.
Working together, we stand outside your job and look in and see how we can add more of what you do like and remove more of what you don’t like.
We also work on limiting beliefs, which can be real game-changers.
This creates stability and a firm foundation from which to leap when it is time to go. It also creates space for the dreaming and scheming work that you haven’t yet found time for.
Less stress and anxiety about your current work = more time and energy to figure out what’s next.
Some clients decide to really stay and dig in after they do this work. You never know!
The Stay Plan is for you, if ...
A big part of you wants to move on, but a wise part within you is telling you to stay. You feel torn. You hoped that time would resolve your problems at work, but it has not. It’s getting more stressful, rather than less stressful and you fear burning out.
Here's what you get.
With a some insight, guidance, and a plan, you’ll feel relief. You’ll have some new insights about where you are and why. You’ll feel better, and you may find a new way of being as well as a new way of approaching your work.
At the end of the four weeks, you’ll have:
- A ‘Change Cycle’ Assessment
- A ‘What’s In My Way ‘ Assessment, so we can quickly focus
- Clarity on what you really want
- You’ll set some firm, doable goals and know where to begin.
- (Includes a Natal Astrology Chart reading focused on purpose and vocation, if desired)
- Relief, because you’re finally putting time and energy towards this important topic
- Less stress as we discover the underlying pressures and stresses
- Clear, because you’ll learn some new dreaming techniques
- Confident, because you feel more like you
- More energetic, because you have more time for things that fill you up
What to expect.
We’ll meet four times on the phone. The first time will be for 1.5 hours and the other three will be for one hour each. Unlimited email access in between sessions and after the four weeks is done (well, to a point). The first session is a combination of an intake session and a strategy session where I ask a bunch of questions and we collaborate to get a real idea of why you’re stuck and what success looks like to you.
Then we get to work. I share concepts at the top of each session. You may get some homework and we will review where you are. Then we unravel, reset, and move forward.
Because this four weeks is so packed, we may be sticking a pin in some thins so they can be explored later. The idea is to give you a customized framework and plan, that you feel good about.
This is not a one-size-fits-all program. The framework is there, but it can be customized to fit your exact situation.
Four Weeks, Four Sessions.
CURRENT SITUATION
We start with an assessment of where you are and start to gain clarity about what you want. What are you current challenges? What’s stressing you out? What kind of support do you need? We start right away with stress-reducing tools.
STAY OR GO?
If you’re in the Stay or Go conundrum, we examine each option. We also examine the internal desires and feelings that go with these options, tapping into your wise self and your intution.
SUPPORT TOOLS
What’s currently triggering you at work? What makes you feel vulnerable? Where do you feel the need to prove yourself yet again? Where do you feel valued and not feel valued? What is driving your desire to leave, when the numbers say you should stay?
YOUR WAY
We can get overloaded with the culture’s messages that encourage us to make risky moves. But, we are moving out of a one-size-fits-all time. This is a time when we do what’s right for us, right now. So, we look at Your Way so you can do what’s right for you, right now.
Don’t let technology get in the way of booking what you want. If you would prefer, you can email me at kharbin500@gmail.com and I will set you up!
